Frequently asked questions

How does WorthAPick estimate an item's value?

For each item, WorthAPick identifies what it is from its photo (using Claude, an AI vision model), then searches eBay and Etsy for comparable active listings and takes the median price. That median, minus estimated marketplace fees, is what shows up as the profit estimate. It's based on real, current listings — not a fixed price book — but it's still an estimate, not a guarantee. See our Terms for more on that.

What does "Low confidence" mean on an item?

Either the comparable listings found for that item disagree widely on price (a wide spread usually means the search matched somewhat different items), or there weren't many comps to go on, or our AI match-check flagged the closest comp as possibly the wrong item. Treat a low-confidence estimate as a rougher ballpark than usual.

What does "Box lot" mean?

It means the photo shows a group of unrelated items lumped together (a bin, table, or "lot of" listing) rather than one distinct item. These are often under-priced because the generic lot description hides what's actually inside — WorthAPick tries to call out anything individually valuable it can spot in the photo.

Which sites does WorthAPick work with?

EstateSales.NET (including their online-marketplace listings), CTBids, and AuctionNinja. Paste any listing URL from those sites and every item on the page gets identified and priced. Discover also lists estate sales and auctions near you — listed, not analyzed, so you choose which ones to run.

Where do the sales in Discover come from?

Estate sales are listed from EstateSales.NET, and auctions from CTBids and AuctionNinja — nearest to your ZIP first. Nothing is analyzed until you tap Analyze, and WorthAPick never needs access to your email.

How does the free trial work?

Every new account gets 14 days free, no card required. After that, keeping access is a single $29.99 payment — once, yours for life. There is no subscription and nothing recurring to cancel.

Can I get a refund?

Since every account gets a full free trial before any card is ever charged, a payment is generally non-refundable — but if something genuinely went wrong (a billing error, an outage), email worthapickr@gmail.com and it’ll get sorted out. Full details in the Terms.

What's the max bid calculator for?

It works backward from how good a deal you want (and any buyer's premium the auction charges) to tell you the number to stop bidding at — not just what the item might be worth, but what you should actually pay for it to still be a good deal.
